Den første forskningsformidlingen fra prosjektet var Liv Byrkjeflots "oral presentation" 03.09.09 ved sesjon" Teaching Science" på Konferansen ESERA 2009. Tittelen var "The use of Web-logs in Discussions on conceptual knowledge".
Abstract: "When students deal with theoretical concepts in Science and other subjects, it is of central importance that they have the opportunity to discuss their views and perceptions. In technology is a central part of the Science curriculum for primary schools. In the present study students have been constructing physical models, and in some of the student projects also digital models, of different types of technological constructions. These activities were linked to theoretical discussions on themes within Physics and Mathematics. As a part of the project, the students were invited to share their ideas and experiences through a blog (web-log). Eight schools participated in the study during the autumn of 2008 and spring of 2009. The activity on the blog varied extensively between schools. In a large proportion of the postings, the students’ contributions were limited to descriptions of activity. A smaller number, however, focused on prediction of results and future actions as well as teamwork and collaboration. In their postings, the students used everyday language with no instances of school scientific phrases. The opportunity to make use of the affordances of technology to articulate, share and reflect on scientific invention, can in the future be available through teacher initiative direction."
Det er første forskning på innhold i bloggene til hvert skoleprosjekt. Spesielt om elevene bruker skolefagsbegrep og ellers hva de skriver om i bloggeinnleggene.
Medforfattere var Dag Atle Lysne HiF og nå ved NTNU og Margaret Lloyd fra Queensland Univeristy of Technology, Queensland Austaralia. Det var fire innlegg i denne gruppa, hver med 20 minutter til presentasjon og 10 minutter med spørsmål og kommentarer.
Det var spennende å være på den store konferansen, med utrolig mange spennende presentasjoner og mennesker. Over 1000 deltakere fra hele verden og mange presentasjoner. ESERA står for European Science Research Association. Det er den store samlingen av "science education" forskning og spesielt viktig for å samle alle "science" fag under en paraply fordi fagene skal integreres i skolen.
Dessuten hadde jeg aldri vært i Istanbul som inngir en egen historisk glans. Båttur på Bosporusstredet, Hagia Sofia og blå moske fikk jeg opplevd.
